MANHUNT MONDAY is a fugitive apprehension program developed to assist Law Enforcement in capturing wanted fugitives" - Since it’s inception in September 2008, 62 out of 104 fugitives have been captured. Every Fugitive profiled on MANHUNT MONDAY are individuals sought by Law Enforcement for violent crimes or serious crimes against society.
The vast majority of the fugitives profiled originate from cases of the El Paso Police Department & the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, however, MANHUNT MONDAY has assisted other local, state & federal agencies in profiling sought fugitives. The purpose of MANHUNT MONDAY is to assist Law Enforcement in capturing wanted individuals when the trail has grown cold. By profiling 1 (or more) individuals every week through television, internet, newspaper & radio new information is obtained on almost every fugitive profiled.
MANHUNT MONDAY along with Crime Stoppers of El Paso have partnered with the media to accomplish this endeavor; fulfilling our mission of reducing the fear of illegal activity in our neighborhoods by involving the community in helping solve crime and capture wanted fugitives. Crime Stoppers of El Paso plays a vital role in the early success of MANHUNT MONDAY as tips are frequently called in.
The Sheriff's Office recognizes MANHUNT MONDAY's success would have never been possible without the help and support from the community, as well as the media. Each one of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Top 10 Most Wanted Fugitives has been profiled on MANHUNT MONDAY & new information has surfaced on each case / fugitive after being profiled. Three past fugitives profiled have also been seen on Americas Most Wanted.
