Ascarate Lake - Fishing

Ascarate Lake is home to trout (winter), catfish (summer), large mouth bass, black bass, sun perch, blue gill, carp, shad, crappie, hybrid sunfish and minnows. Anglers are restricted to two poles each.

- Adults 17 & older: Fishing license is required; fishing licenses can be obtained at most sporting goods stores. Check below for Texas sports fishing license rates.
- Children 16 or younger: FREE if accompanied by an adult 17 or older; no license required
- Seniors 65 or older: FREE; fishing license is not required

- Season (Texas resident): $23.00
- Season (Non-resident): $50.00
- Child 16 or younger: FREE (Resident & Non-resident)
- Fourteen-consecutive-days temporary sports fishing license (Texas Residents): $15.00
- Five-day temporary license (Non-resident): $30.00
- Three-day temporary sports fishing license (Texas residents): $12.00
- Trout Stamp: $7.00

- Trout - five (5) per day, ten (10) in possession

- Crappie - twenty-five (25) per day, 10" minimum
