EL PASO TEXAS- On Saturday, 06-15-13 at 9:50 PM, a Sheriff’s Deputy was patrolling the 300 block of Chisom Dr. (residential area) in Vinton, TX, when he saw a vehicle traveling over the designated speed limit. The driver took the Deputy on a small chase, along with five other occupants, after the driver of a 2004 red Ford F-150 accelerated the vehicle, made a u-turn and an abrupt turn into a dirt roadway and turned off its lights. The driver/Daisy Carrera of Anthony, NM, was apprehended at the 400 block of Chisom Dr. and charged with Evading Arrest/Detention with a Vehicle. The driver claimed the reason she did not stop was because her husband/occupant was intoxicated and the other occupants/children (7,8 & 10 year old) were not properly restrained inside the vehicle.

ARRESTED ROGELIO MUNOZ (37) CHARGES: Criminal Trespass Burglary of Vehicle Possession of C/S PG 1 O/1-U/4 GM (Heroin) Total Bond: $6,050.00	EL PASO TEXAS- On 05-27-13 at 12:40 PM Upper-Valley Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 7300 block of Branding Iron, El Paso County, TX, in reference to a Burglary of Vehicle in Progress. Deputies received information of a male subject wearing a red hat and black bandana who had entered the cab of a truck and allegedly stolen a car seat then drove off in a red mustang. Deputies spotted the vehicle at the 7200 block of Gillette where the driver/Rogelio Munoz of La Union, NM, was found in possession of under 4 grams of heroin and no car seat. Further investigation revealed Munoz dropped the car seat before leaving the property. Munoz was also charged with Criminal Trespass and Burglary of Vehicle. According to Munoz he was on the property to buy a car.

ARRESTED	EL PASO TEXAS- On 05-27-13 at approximately 9:20 PM Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 700 block of Cascada, El Paso County, TX, in reference to a Hit & Run. Further investigation revealed a male subject identified as Isai Silva was driving a Jeep Wrangler when he struck a rock wall w/mailbox at the same location and fled the scene. At the time the vehicle was located, subject/Silva was also found in possession of marijuana found in plain view inside the vehicle. Silva was charged with Possession of Marijuana and for Duty on Striking Fixture or Highway Landscaping. Damage was estimated at approximately $200.

EL PASO TEXAS- On 05-23-13 at approximately 4:15 PM, a Sheriff’s Deputy rolled up on a single Motor Vehicle Accident near the intersection of Doniphan Dr. and Chicken Farm Rd., in Canutillo, TX. Further investigation revealed the driver of a 2000 Acura driven by 21 year old Omar Capetillo of Canutillo, TX, was traveling northbound on Doniphan Dr. According to witnesses two vehicles were seen traveling north at a high rate of speed when one of the vehicles attempted to pass a pickup truck on the right shoulder before the driver/victim lost control. The vehicle skidded off the road and hit a cement drainage ditch which caused the vehicle to roll several times and come to rest on the other side of the railroad tracks. Capetillo was transported by Life Ambulance to a local hospital with minor injuries. Capetillo was also found to be in possession of marijuana under 2 oz. and methamphetamine under 1/gram and was booked into the Detention Facility late evening. The investigation continues.

EL PASO TEXAS- The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control Section is in search for the owners of a horse and a donkey found last week. On Friday, May 17, 2013 one brown male horse and a grey and white female donkey were found at the 8500 block of N. Vinton Rd. in Canutillo, TX.

EL PASO TEXAS- On 04-21-13 at approximately 5:40 PM Sheriff’s Deputies responded to an aggravated assault call in the upper-valley at the 1300 block of Bayshore Rd., (Westway Area) in El Paso County Texas. Upon arrival Deputies met with a 20 year old male victim who was allegedly stabbed on the neck by male subject who confronted the victim while at a family gathering. The victim was transported by ambulance to a local area hospital in stable condition.

A preliminary investigation revealed the male subject, accompanied by another male, arrived to the gathering at the said location highly intoxicated when he became aggressive with other invitees to include the victim. According to witnesses, the male subject at one point produced a unknown type of weapon and was seen chasing the victim on the property, wounding the victim. The male offender then left in a tan four door passenger car. The investigation continues.

EL PASO TEXAS-On 04-16-13 at approximately 3:50 PM, Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to 801 Talbot Ave. (Alderete Middle School), Canutillo, TX, in reference to a bomb threat. Deputies arrived to assist school staff who had begun evacuating students from the building. Upon evacuation of the building, an assessment of the interior was performed by Deputies for any suspicious activity or objects which yielded negative results.

On 04-17-13, witness information lead Deputies to a juvenile male, 14 years of age, who allegedly made the false threat. The juvenile was taken into custody and referred to the Juvenile Probation Department for the offense False Alarm or Report. No injuries were reported as a result of the bomb threat.

The cause of a FALSE ALARM OR REPORT, in the State of Texas, is a State Jail Felony when a person knowingly initiates, communicates or circulates a report of a present, past, or future bombing, fire, offense, or other emergency that he knows is false or baseless and in an emergency involves a public primary or secondary school or other public service that causes an action by;

An official or volunteer agency that deals with emergencies
Places a person in fear of imminent serious bodily injury; or
Prevents or interrupts the occupation of a building, room, place of assembly, place to which the public has access, or aircraft, automobile, or other mode of conveyance.

An individual adjudged guilty of a state jail felony shall be punished by confinement in a state jail for any term of not more than two years or less than 180 days. In addition to confinement, an individual adjudged guilty of a state jail felony may be punished by a fine not to exceed $10,000.

EL PASO TEXAS- On 04-14-13 at approximately 7:45 AM, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 600 Valley Chile Rd. (Great American Land & Cattle Co.), Vinton, TX, in reference to an alarm call.

Sheriff’s Deputies and Anthony Police Department arrived within minutes to find the front door to the business kicked in. A perimeter was established and a search of the business using a Sheriff’s Office K-9 yielded negative results. Further investigation revealed the suspect ransacked the office side of the business, opened a cash register and made way with approximately $500. A surveillance video depicts the suspect as a thin male, wearing a gray hooded sweater with the word “PINK” (front lettering) and red shorts. The vehicle is described as a gray or silver Nissan Pathfinder with a missing mounted spare, possibly driven by an accomplice.

EL PASO TEXAS- On 04-10-13 at approximately 1:20 AM, a Sheriff’s Deputy patrolling the upper valley conducted a traffic stop on a white 2001 Ford Expedition at the 6900 block South Desert, in El Paso County, after the Deputy spotted a vehicle creating a traffic hazard. Upon contact with driver, the Deputy placed the driver/Francisco Salcido of the 100 block of Antone, in Sunland Park, NM, for driving under the suspicion of alcohol.
