EL PASO TEXAS-On Sunday, 08-12-12, at approximately 3:15 AM, Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 7000 block of 3rd St., Canutillo, TX, where Deputies met with a 21 year old female/VICTIM of an aggravated kidnapping. An investigation by Deputies revealed the VICTIM and her three young children were taken by force against their will by the VICTIM’S 19 year old common law husband/Mitchel Piedra and his mother/Sandra Piedra. Both went to the VICTIM’S home to pick up subject/Mitchel Piedra’s child on Friday, 08-10-12, where an argument ensued between the VICTIM and Mitchel Piedra and the VICTIM was assaulted. The VICTIM and her children were then removed from the residence by Mitchel Piedra and his mother and taken to another residence in far Northeast El Paso County where they were held against their will and not allowed to leave until Saturday night. Crimes Against Persons (CAP) Detective’s were summoned and took over the investigation.
Further investigation by CAP Detectives resulted in the arrest of Mitchel Piedra and mother/Sandra Piedra who were both charged on three counts each of Aggravated Kidnapping. They are both being held at the El Paso County Detention facility on a $100,000 bond on each count.
