On 08-03-12 at approximately 8:30 AM, Sheriff’s Deputies were flagged down near a canal area south of 600 W. Main, Fabens, TX. in reference to a female who was victim of an assault. The victim’s vehicle was located which lead Deputies to identification of the victim (31) and suspect/Ignacio Sosa (36). Further investigation revealed the victim was possibly kidnapped late Thursday evening from the 100 block of W. Main, Fabens, TX and taken to the canal where she was severely beaten throughout the night. The victim was transported to a local area hospital. The suspects vehicle was also located at the 18300 block of Alameda Ave. Detectives from Crimes Against Persons (CAP) and Crime Scene Technicians were summoned to the scene.
During the investigation Sheriff’s Deputies received an additional tip of the possible whereabouts of suspect/Ignacio Sosa. Deputies in the valley were now in search of a red 2005 Ford truck with TX plates. The “BOLO” extended to Las Cruces, NM, where Dona Ana Sheriff’s Office located the suspect and a female, making Ignacio Sosa a fugitive from justice. Sosa is facing charges of Aggravated Kidnapping and Violation of a Protective Order.
Diligent efforts of each agency and sections lead to Sosa’s capture (EPCSO, U.S. Border Patrol, S.O. Communications Section, C.R.E.F.S., C.A.P. Detectives & D.A.S.O.).
