CORRECTIONAL/JAIL OFFICER OF THE YEAR AWARD

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office congratulates Detention Officer Raul Reyes for receiving the Correctional/Jail Officer of the Year Award. Detention Officer Reyes was officially nominated by the El Paso Police Gang Investigations Unit through the Texas Gang Investigators Association (TGIA) on April 17, 2012. Officer Reyes proudly accepted this award on June 28, 2012 in San Antonio, Texas. Officer Reyes was recognized as an instrumental team member that is heavily relied upon each and every day by local, county, state and federal law enforcement and for his commitment to Gang Investigations, which is only understood by Gang Investigators, and does not go by overlooked.

Officer Reyes has become very valuable to Law Enforcement Agencies as he makes himself available day or night. Apart from Officer Reyes working his primary job as a Detention Officer he is also known for training area law enforcement officers and has been a key presenter for the TGIA and the Texas Violent Gang Task Force at the West Regional trainings for several years. Officer Reyes continues to assist agencies out on the field cracking down on gang related cases.
