MALE SUBJECT APPREHENDED AFTER ELUDING SHERIFF’S DEPUTIES

EL PASO COUNTY TEXAS- On 06-23-12 at approximately 1:25 A.M. Sheriff’s Deputies received information in reference a party involving underage drinking at the 700 block of Tiffany, Canutillo, TX. Upon arrival, a Deputy saw a male subject on foot coming from a residence where the party was said to be at.
As the Deputy attempted to make contact with the subject, who appeared to be a juvenile, the subject fled on foot to the backyard of a nearby home. The Deputy gave chase and apprehended the subject as the suspect jumped over a chain linked fence. The subject then kicked the Deputy on the face and the chase continued. The Deputy lost visual of the subject at the 8500 block of Essex (Westway area) and responding Sheriff’s units immediately set up a perimeter in the same vicinity the subject was last seen. Within minutes, the subject was located at the 800 block of Southwood (West way area).
The subject was identified as ESTEBAN LUCERO, from the 7000 block of Keily in Vinton, TX. LUCERO was charged with Evading Arrest, Detention or Transport and Assault on a Public Servant. The Deputy remained on duty despite receiving non-life threatening injuries as a result of the assault and the subject was booked into the Detention Facility.
