EL PASO COUNTY TEXAS-On Sunday, 06-17-2012 at approximately 9:35 PM, a Sheriff’s Deputy patrolling the 600 block of Westway Blvd. El Paso County Texas, saw a blue Chevrolet pick-up truck traveling at a high rate of speed that almost collided with another vehicle.  The Deputy activated the emergency lights to the patrol unit and attempted to stop the said vehicle but the driver continued to evade, driving through the neighborhoods of Westway Blvd. and  disregarding stop signs of several intersections. Continuing to evade the Sheriff’s Deputy., the driver/offender came to a final stop at the initial location where the short pursuit began. When the Deputy approached the driver/offender, the Deputy smelled a strong odor of an unknown alcohol beverage emitting from the driver's breath. The Deputy also saw an open 12-pack box of “Bud Light” beer that had 2 cans remaining inside the box. The driver, identified as Martin Morado of Canutillo, Texas, was placed under arrest for EVADING ARREST AND DETENTION WITH A VEHICLE & DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED.  The passenger, a 50 year old male, was released to a responsible party. No further incidents occurred from the brief pursuit.
