EL PASO COUNTY TEXAS-Early morning at 4:37 AM a Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to 1491 S. Darrington, the “ Darlington Hideway Club“ in reference to a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, the Deputy received information about the Offender/Gilbert Duran who had become enraged while inside the night club, after he was told by management the club did not sell liquor. The Offender, who was highly intoxicated, was then subsequently escorted out of the night club by management due to his demeanor as he began to yell obscenities inside the club.
Once outside, the enraged Offender entered his 1996 Dodge Ram 4x4 pick-up truck and drove head on into some electrical wooden poles which were used to protect the building and also served as a parking barrier. In addition, the Offender also collided his pickup truck into several vehicles which were parked in the night clubs parking lot. The Offender collided into a 2002 Dodge Neon and a 2011 GMC Sierra pick-up causing an estimated amount of $8,500 worth in damages. The momentum from the impact of the Offender’s Dodge Ram caused the same GMC pickup to strike a 1998 Ford F-150 that was estimated at $2,500 worth in damages. The owner of the night club estimated the establishments damages to be that of an approximate $10,000. DURAN was charged with DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED and (3) counts of CRIMINAL MISCHIEF.
