On 05-06-2012 early Sunday morning at approximately 4:42 AM, Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 12200 block of Quetzal, Clint, TX in El Paso County in reference to an Aggravated Assault involving Family Violence. According to the victim, an argument ensued between her and a family member/brother. At that point, the brother threw a beer bottle at her direction and struck her on the face causing a laceration to the victim’s head. At the scene, the victim’s daughter attempted to stop the Offender from continuing to assault the victim, and during the process, the Offender also assaulted the daughter.
Sheriff’s Deputies, along with Socorro PD proceeded in search of the Offender who possibly fled to his residence located at the 100 block of Sylvia, Socorro, TX. Upon arrival, Sheriff’s Deputies saw the Offender depart in a vehicle at a high rate of speed. The Offender came to a stop after the Deputy activated the patrol unit’s emergency lights in attempt to stop him. The Offender was identified as DANIEL HERRERA who was charged with Aggravated Assault /Family Violence. HERRERA was additionally charged with Prohibited Weapons (brass knuckles) in which he was in possession of at the time the Deputies searched HERRERA for weapons and also charged with Assault Family Violence.
