EL PASO COUNTY, TEXAS- On 03-16-2012 at approximately 12:30 p.m.,El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Strike Team members were patrolling Northbound at the 3500 block of Saul Kleinfield. As Strike team members approached the intersection of Saul Kleinfield and Turner, they observed a gold in color Ford Taurus make a right turn from Turner street onto Saul Kleinfield without signaling its intent to turn right. Strike Team deputies conducted a traffic stop on the Ford Taurus and upon making contact with the male driver, accompanied by a male passenger, deputies detected a strong odor or marijuana emitting from inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle by the Strike Team Deputies led to the recovery of two cardboard boxes with several bundles wrapped in black PVC pipe tape. A further investigation revealed the bundles contained marijuana. The driver/suspect was placed under arrest and consequently booked into the El Paso County Jail under a $25,000 bond. A total of 24 bundles were seized with an approximate weight of 51 lbs. The male passenger was not charged.
