EL PASO, TEXAS - On Wednesday 01/11/2012 at approximately 7:50 p.m., El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Strike Team Deputies were patrolling westbound at the 12000 block of Gateway West when Strike Team Deputies observed a black Ford Expedition fail to signal during a lane change. Strike Team Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle at Mile Marker 32 IH-10 West. Strike Team deputies made contact with male driver who was in the company of a male front passenger. While speaking with the occupants of the vehicle, Strike Team Deputies detected a strong odor of marijuana emitting from inside of the vehicle. A consent to search the vehicle was obtained from the male driver which resulted in locating 20 individually wrapped bundles of marijuana concealed inside boxes of Bud Light beer. The driver, 33 year old Carlos F. Rivera and passenger, 31 year old Felix Molina Jr. were both placed under arrest for Possession of Marijuana O/5lbs - U/50 lbs. The marijuana had a total weight of approximate 21.5 lbs. The investigation continues.
