TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO A VEHICLE PURSUIT-1 ARRESTED FOR EVADING WITH A VEHICLE & DWI 2ND OFFENSE

El PASO, TX- On Friday, 11-25-11 at approximately 9:46 PM an El Paso County Sheriff’s Deputy was patrolling the 12000 block of Alameda Ave. (eastbound) when he saw a black H3 Hummer(2007) disregard a stop sign at Bovee and Alameda Ave., in El Paso County, TX. The Deputy conducted a traffic stop on the said vehicle where it came to a stop near the intersection of Passmore Rd. and Alameda Ave. As the Deputy exited his patrol unit, the driver of the Hummer H3 sped off east on Alameda Ave.
The Deputy pursued the vehicle with lights and sirens and followed the Hummer H3 as it turned right onto Passmore Rd.and headed south toward Socorro Rd. still evading the Deputy by refusing to stop. The vehicle then turned west onto Socorro Rd. then to Tiwa Blvd. where it turned left into a residential area. The vehicle continued through several residential streets and came to a stop in front of the 700 block of Santiago Bustamante.
The Driver was taken into custody without incident and was identified as Miguel Gomez (29). The driver was charged with EVADING ARREST/DETENTION WITH A VEHICLE and DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED (2nd offense).
