STATE PARK POLICE SEEK SUSPECTS IN WYLER AERIAL TRAMWAY VANDALISM

Some vandals broke into the Wyler Aerial Tramway, causing several thousand dollars in damages , making this the

Crime Stoppers “Crime of the Week.”

Sometime overnight between Sunday, October 9^th, 2011, at 6:30 P.M., and the following Monday morning at 7:45 A.M., vandals broke into the Wyler Aerial Tramway located at 1700 McKinley Avenue in the Franklin Mountains State Park. The vandals broke windows and side view mirrors on three state vehicles at the park headquarters. They also took fire extinguishers from the vehicles and discharged them inside leaving behind a thick yellow powder all over the vehicle interiors.

In addition, the vandals broke into the maintenance shop, ransacking the interior and throwing cleaning products onto the floor. An office in the maintenance shop was also ransacked, causing a total of more than $5,000 in damages. Investigators believe that two or three young Hispanic men may be responsible for this crime.
